General
If you decided to take a local tour, please ensure that the tour company / travel agency has this license. This license is issued by Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism of Malaysia, to control operation & prove legitimacy of one company.
There are a lot of inbound tour companies in Sabah, but some of them are illegal. If you choose a local tour with cheaper price but they don’t have this license, be aware that it maybe a trap, or they will have some hidden cost that you never know before you get on their car.
The differences between a bad and a good tour company are:
- Tour guides training - A qualified tour guide has to take & passed the examination which held by government.
- Professional - They will take care of everyone even there are a lot of visitors.
- Number of tour buses - Most of the tour companies don’t have their own van/buses. Sometimes they will cancel the itinerary or pass to other company if number of visitors too little.
- What’s included - Well listed terms so that you know the inclusive and exclusive items.
If Advanced Payment (deposit) needed to secure your booking, there are several ways for you to pay:
1. Bank Transfer
For guests who are Malaysian or staying in Malaysia, please use this method to pay.
2. Online Payment
The available online payment methods include:
- Credit Card - Visa, MasterCard
- MEPS - Maybank, Public, Hong Leong, CIMB, EON, Bank Islam.
- Paypal
- Mobile Money
- WEB Cash
** You have to pay for 2.5% transaction fee.

For foreign guests, normally you can only transfer the payment in USD upon doing the Telegraphic Transfer (T/T), please check with bank staff for an estimate amount. Due to daily fluctuations of exchange rate, the actual amount we receive might a bit different from you sent. We will report to you the actual amount we received, Bank Advise will be provided as a proof too. The balances will be paid to either side as the case may be.

Tour
You can check with us if tourist van can pick you up from your hotel / accommodation.
Normally, the tour guide is English speaking, because there are only a few Chinese speaking tour guides in Sabah.
But if your group has 6 peoples (adults & children) and above, you may request a Chinese speaking (Mandarin / Cantonese) tour guide. During low season, we could even try to arrange a Private Tour for you with private tour guide, private van and no others tourists.
Additionally, if the tour has noted that "you may request a Chinese speaking tour guide", feel free to indicate your request when you book no matter how many persons you have, but we can’t guarantee for the arrangement.
Once your booking has confirmed, we will send you a Reservation Receipt with tour company contact number, as well as the contact number of Sabah Booking. You are welcome to contact us whenever you need, otherwise contact & reconfirm is not necessary.
All you need to do is waiting the tour guide at hotel lobby to pickup you on travelling day. If some situation occurs like tour has been cancelled due to bad weather, tour company will contact and inform you.
In most case, if you have 7 to 10 people, private tour could be arranged with no additional charge. However, you still have to share the boat with others during sea / river transfer.
Simply tick "To be confirmed / Inform later" checkbox upon booking. Once your hotel arrangements are finalized, you can login "My Booking" to update pickup location anytime.
