Halal foods are foods that Muslims are allowed to eat or drink under Islamic Shariʻah. The criteria specify both what foods are allowed, and how the food must be prepared. The foods addressed are mostly types of meat and animal tissue.

Pork is the only meat that cannot be eaten by Muslims at all (due to historically, culturally, and religiously perceived hygienic concerns), foods other than pork can also be haraam. The criteria for non-pork items include their source, the cause of the animal's death, and how it was processed.

Beside the halal food, you may visit to more attraction of Kota Kinabalu.

Floating Mosque

The largest mosque in Kota Kinabalu, the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque is even possibly the most beautiful one in Malaysia – the man-made lagoon which surrounds it gives a serenely gorgeous and dramatic look to the mosque on a full moon night.

Wisma Tun Mustapha

Formerly known as the Sabah Foundation Building, this circular tower of steel and glass stands 30 storeys high in the Likas Bay area and is instantly recognizable as a Sabah icon. It has a central core with steel brackets supporting each floor.

Handicraft Market

Tanjung Aru Beach

Located at the end of Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman and about 6 kilometres from Kota Kinabalu City, this place is closest to the hearts of the locals, and just one visit to the beach will tell you why. Taking its name from the casuarinas or aru trees that fringe the fine sands, this is where one might get a ringside seat to the greatest sunset on earth every evening when the crimson sun dips slowly into the horizon, leaving the vast skies a brilliant red.

Tamparuli Bridge

This hanging bridge was built in order to help people to cross the Tamparuli River and built for motor traffic, spans the river far below the hanging bridge and is frequently flooded during heavy rain.

Poring Hot Spring & Canopy Walk

Poring Hot Spring can be de-stress and soak away the sores and aches of your muscles in the spring’s hot sulphuric minerals, deemed to have healing properties and very popular among the locals. Canopy walk is a must for visitor who ever sets foot in Poring Hot Spring. It will take about 30 minutes or so to reach the canopy walkway right in the jungle of Poring Hot Spring via an uphill jungle trail.

With its sprawling tea plantation surrounded by pristine rainforests in the cool mountain air, the Sabah Tea Garden beckons you to indulge in its beautiful surroundings, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life.

Kinabalu Park

Kinabalu Park is Malaysia’s first World Heritage Site. Also the Centre of Plant Diversity for South East Asia, the Park boasts more than 5,000 vascular plant species and the Park has no shortage of fauna as well, being home to some 90 lowland mammal species and many others.
