Description
The mere name conjures the image of crystal-clear waters and a floating paradise like no other. A 45-minute trip from Semporna by speedboat, Kapalai island is one of the many beautiful diving havens in this part of the world. However, Kapalai is truly unique because it is not quite an ‘island’, it is a sandbank in the middle of the Celebes Sea.
The 40 chalets are built on high wooden stilts in the middle of the ocean. Visitors can enjoy the sights of marine life in action as they stroll along the boardwalk, a sturdy construction that connects the various sections of the floating resort.
All rooms are twin-sharing with an attached bathroom, hot and cold shower, bathtub, and fresh water from the mainland for daily use, you may have your private balcony too.
You will have a breathtaking view of the Celebes Sea no matter where you turn! The restaurant is a wooden deck, where diners can eat indoors or al fresco. There’s even a viewing area in the middle of the restaurant which allows you to see the myriad of marine life passing below. The sundeck, a popular favorite, is a great place to enjoy your novel, work on a tan, or indulge in an afternoon siesta.
The Dive Centre provides diving, snorkeling, and kayaking gear for rent. Can’t dive but would love to? No problem! The center offers a variety of PADI courses, including Open Water and Introduction to Night Diving. After enjoying your underwater paradise, explore other facilities offered by the resort including the souvenir shop, games room, and broadband access.
Fresh food cooked by a chef on buffet style. Afternoon snacks are served after 3rd dive, and tea and coffee, cold water, and cordial drink are served thru out the day.

This tour’s rate is vacation rate (non-divers rate), should you participate in diving by:
- 3 daily boat dives, except arrival & departure day.
- No extra charge for night dives in front of the dive centre for advanced diver or diver with night dive experience.

- Semporna town to Kapalai Island - 09:30 am, 12:30 pm (boat journey takes 60 minutes)
- Kapalai Island to Semporna town - 11:00 am and 1:30 pm (boat journey takes 60 minutes)
- An additional fee will be charged for unscheduled transfers

Arrival :
Book the earliest flight to arrive Tawau.
1st boat into KAPALAI is at 10:00 am, earliest flight to look for is from Kota Kinabalu to arrive Tawau around 07:40 am
Departure:
Book any flight from 10:00 am onward.
To stay up to last departure boat at 13:30 pm from KAPALAI, earliest flight to look for is anytime from 17:00 pm.

Chance to Dive at Sipadan Island
The diving package DOES NOT guarantee to dive at Sipadan Island. All diving are at Mabul, Kapalai and other nearby good diving area. Diving to Sipadan Island is a bonus dive, where the resort will bring you to Sipadan to dive if managed to get the permit (at no extra cost). The resort can only bring diver to Sipadan Island to dive once they have the permit approved from Sabah Park and subject to how many entry passes can be obtained in a day, which particular dates being approved is totally depending on Sabah Park approval. However, chances are high for those who stay for 3 nights and above.

1st Day

Recommend to take domestic flight from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau.

As soon as you arrive Tawau, our representative will be at the airport to meet/transfer you to Semporna by bus/van (approx. 1.5 hours).

Leave Semporna for Kapalai island by boat.

Boat will take approximately 50 mintues ~ 1 hour depending on the sea/weather condition that day.

1 Check dive + 1 boat dive at Mabul or Kapalai Islands by 1st boat schedule (Subject to change without prior notice) + unlimited house dive with own buddy system + night dive with own buddy.
- All guests required to provide vaccine certificate (print screen) before arrive.
- Provide family room with 1 double and 2 single beds, first come first serve.
- Provide air cond rooms (first come first serve) and fan rooms.
- All rooms have private balcony.
- Room amenities: towel, shampoo, soap & hair dryer.
- Recommend to bring: extra pocket money, insect repellent, sun-block lotion, change of clothes, towel, cap/hat, slippers,rain coat, personal toiletries.
- Price quoted is not included snorkeling or diving, and related equipments’ fee; you may opt for rental from KAPALAI Dive Centre.
- Price excludes Semporna Jetty Fee MYR 11 per person (payable to the Municipal Council of Semporna).
- Each chalet will charged on 2 adults price rate basis.
- No pregnant women are allowed by boat to KAPALAI Resort.
- Please notify us upon booking if you wish to take Diving Package.
- Check-in time to Chalet: 2pm.
- Free use of broadband services; 4G mobile connection is available too (Celcom and Maxis).

2nd Day

If you are diver, there will be 3 boat dives between Sipadan, Mabul or Kapalai Island, and unlimited dives in front of Kapalai dive centre with own dive buddy.
- Number of dive depends on flight departure the next day.
- Please bear in mind of requirement for the surface internal before flight the next day.
3rd Day

Check out and transfer to Semporna or Tawau Airport.
- Check-out time from Chalet: 12pm.
- Depart from Kapalai Resort for your flight, please keep at least 5 hours.
How to Pay
Pay on travelling day
No advance payment is required, simply pay cash in Ringgit-Malaysia to tour guide. However, you still need pay in full for any cancellation made 1 day prior to tour date.
