Mantanani Scuba Diving + Kawa Kawa River Cruise

Mantanani Islands are a group of three isolated islands located northwest of Kota Belud, about an hour’s drive from the state capital of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu. These islands are approximately 45 minutes boat ride by speedboat from the mainland.

The islands boasts of crystal clear blue waters filled with a myriad of marine life and white sandy beaches fringed by coconut palm trees. One of the main reasons that Mantanani Islands is popular for local and tourists alike is because of its picturesque scenery, cool breezes and serene environment.

Enjoy your first dive with a 20 minutes beach dive to familiarize yourselves with the equipments at the big Mantanani Island. Then followed immediately by the second dive, the boat dive. You'll be provided 1 oxygen cylinders. For those who is a qualified diver with certification, please notify us that you will take part in Leisure Dive upon booking, your second oxygen cylinder will be provided by FREE!

Diving equipment included: weights, weight belt, BCD, regulator, mask, fins, scuba tanks.

Wetsuits / rash guards are provided for the diving participants. This also depends on the water temperature, if the water is warm, then you can choose not to wear wetsuits and just use rash guards (top skinsuit).

The whole diving trip is guided by professional PADI Dive Instructor / Master, and we do provide a translator who can communicate in Mandarin and Cantonese.

After taking the lunch and if weather permitted, you can get the life jacket and mask from staff to do beach side snorkeling. However, this does not accompany by guide / staff and snorkel at your own risk.

For those who love to watch these unique primate not found elsewhere in the world is a “Must See”. It would definitely gives you one of the most exhilarating and memorable experience observing the Proboscis monkeys both young and adult leaping from tree to tree and eventually down to feed on young leaves and plants. The leaping act is superb, fast, steady, stylish and perfect. Proboscis monkeys survive mainly on a diet of leaves, seeds, and unripe fruits but will occasionally consume insects as well. As well experiencing a night cruise with glows of fireflies lighting up the trees.

Precautions

This tour might be cancelled due to bad weather condition especially in Monsoon Season (November ~ January, and June), the tour company will inform you if the trip has been cancelled by early morning before 7:00am on traveling day. If so, you may contact us for immediate arrangement of other trips or simply tell us to postpone this tour to next available day.

Sometime the weather is fair and the tour keep going, there might be rough sea condition and choppy water, you probably will not feel comfortable. If the weather is not getting better, only ONE session of diving will be conducted at shallow water area and will leave the island earlier than usual for safety reason. No refund will be given for any part of the services after commencement of tour.
