Description

Mengalum is an island situated betwen 50-60km from Kota Kinabalu and located on the West Coast Division of Sabah in the South China Sea on Malaysia. It is a remote island paradise surrounded by fine white sandy beaches with clear waters. The island is well known among anglers as it is a well known deep sea fishing ground and a fishing location for the annual Sabah International Fishing Tournament. This island is becoming well-known among tourists too after it opened to public in 2010. 

It is also known as 'anchor island' because there is an mysterious anchor being left behind more than a hundred years ago. The large anchor has been one of it's minor attraction and symbol. There's been alot of rumours that the anchor was left by one of Ferdinand Magellan's fleet but it hasn't been proven.Snorkeling in Mengalum can be interesting as there are a abundant of fishes such as groupers, snappers, clownfishes and many other reef fishes with a majority of colorful hard corals, like, staghorn corals, lettuce coral, table corals.

Itinerary

    Meet up at Sutera Marina Club Lobby and register. Simple briefing before embarking to Mengalum Island.

    Safety briefing and depart to fishing point (Time depend on the water condition)

    Prepare Fishing Equipment and fish baits to start fishing.

  • 4

    Lunch will be cooked and serve on boat. Continue fishing after lunch.

  • 5

    Packed up and prepare to depart back to mainland.

  • 6

    Arrive back at Sutera Jetty.

Warm Remind

  • Recommend to bring: hat, sun block, towel, drinking water, extra clothing, insect repellent, sea sick medication.
  • Catch fish can be steamed or sashimi by boat crew.
  • Best Season for deep sea fishing during Month April until July.
  • Deep sea level nearly 30~100 meter.
  • Pregnant mothers and child below 12 years old are not permitted to join the tour.

Pay on travelling day

No advance payment is required, simply pay cash in Ringgit-Malaysia to tour guide. However, you still need pay in full for any cancellation made 1 day prior to tour date.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:  1) Cancellations 3 days and above , 0% of tour fee will be charged. 2) Cancellations 2 days and below , 100% of tour fee will be charged. 3) Guest No Show , no refunds will be entertained. 4) Operation team has the right to postponed the time or cancel the tour if the weather conditions do not permit for comfort and safety of guest. 5) Requesting for an early end of the tour will not be given any refund or price deduction. 6) ONLY cancellations made by the operation team before the tour commence due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances will be provided a refund.
