Kota Kinabalu is the capital of Malaysia’s Sabah state in the northern part of the island of Borneo. Often referred to as KK, it’s a coastal city partly surrounded by rainforest. It's known for its bustling markets, modern boardwalk, beaches and waterfront Kota Kinabalu City Mosque. It is also a gateway to Kinabalu National Park, the home of 4,095m-high Mount Kinabalu. Locals here often refers Kota Kinabalu as ‘KK’ in short. KK is also the gateway to one of Southeast Asia’s tallest mountains, Mount Kinabalu. Apart from KK’s majestic beauty, be spoiled for choices as KK also offers a wide range of food selection.
There is a diverse range of landmarks and sights in Kota Kinabalu, with mosques and towers being the main talking points. Most of them are sited in the city centre, while lookout points and other lofty towers are located to the north and behind the town.
Kota Kinabalu Ferry Terminal is a passenger ferry terminal at Jesselton Point near the K.K. port. It provides ferry and motorboat services to the nearby islands for tourists as well as for commuters living on the islands. There are also regular scheduled ferry services to Labuan.
Kokol Heaven offers the most spectacular view of the Kota Kinabalu city. Views spanning far beyond 5 Islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman Parks to the North, and beauty of the majestic Mount Kinabalu to the South. The resort is most famous for its restaurant, Horizon, with delicious dishes like Oxtail Curry, Tuaran Mee, and Fried Icecream. The amazing view coupled with Horizon's mouthwatering food makes Kokol Haven Resort a fantastic place to enjoy with family and friends.
