Description
You don’t have to climb Mount Kinabalu to experience the beauty of Mount Kinabalu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sabah. Discover a landscape of steaming pools and high peaks on a full-day tour from Kota Kinabalu to Pekan Nabalu or Kundasang Town, Poring Hot Springs, Treetop Canopy Walk and Fish SPA. Unlike tours with rigid, fixed itineraries, this trip combines the convenience of pre-booked transport with flexibility to enjoy all the things that interest you most at each site.
The real attraction here is the cattle farm, producing about 900,00 litres of milk per year. The farm is 199 hectars and most of the milking cows are Friesians, the highest milk producers of all cattle breeds. It is an ideal destination for the whole family, where there are activities such as feeding the calves with bottled milk, feeding goats with grass, how milk is processed as well as the milking process are available for all. If you have ever wondered how milk is made, Desa Cattle Farm is the place for you.
The hot springs is the most visited area. Once you enter the park (opens from 9am to 5pm daily), just buy a ticket at the counter (RM15 (≈USD4.50) for foreigner adult, RM3 for local), then you can enjoy the hot spring in open area. We believe the hot sulphur spring has therapeutic properties that heal certain skin diseases, and the heat and minerals also can soothe muscles and improve blood and lymphatic circulation, thereby improving our health and skin.
In the Local KadazanDusun dialect, ‘tagal’ means ‘no fishing’, and the main purpose of the ‘tagal’ is to preserve the environment as well as the ecosystem to benefit the future generation. ‘Ikan Pelian’ or Malaysian Mahseer comes from the family of Cyprinidae. These fishes are specifically trained by the villagers to perform the healing massage activities. The fish massage is deemed to have a curative effect on those who suffers from psoriasis. Come to Kampung Luanti for regular fish massages and you will enjoy smoother and suppler skin – just like a baby’s bottom.
