Proboscis Moneky and Firefly River Cruise:
Embark on a half day river cruise along in a world of vibrant greenery and winding waterways. Towering mangrove trees with their intricate root systems create a mesmerizing labyrinth, their roots intertwining and creating a natural network that supports a myriad of aquatic life. The Mangrove trees also served as a natural habitat for all kinds of wildlife , including one of the endemic species in Borneo , the Proboscis Moneky , along with the Silver Leaf Monkey , Long Tail Macaques , crocodiles and more. 

When night falls, The mangrove river is slowly graced by the appearance of the fireflies. As the fireflies gather at the mangrove trees , creates a live summer Christmas Tree as you cruise along the river.  A perfect way to end the half day tour with memorable memories engraved in your mind.

Itinerary

    Pickup from Semporna Town Hotel.

    Arrive at ATV base , proceed with registration.

  • 3

    Undergo a safety and operate briefing.

  • 4

    Sign the liability form before gearing up.

  • 5

    Start the ATV activity (roughly 15 - 20 minutes)

  • 6

    Depart to the jetty , enjoy Malay Hi-tea.

  • 7

    Search for wild proboscis monkey, silver leaf monkey, long tail macaque & crocodiles.

  • 8

    Proceed to a local restaurant after the river cruise to enjoy local dinner.

  • 9

    Proceed with the firefly viewing.

  • 10

    Back to Semporna Town.

    Arrived back to Semporna Hotel.

Warm Remind

  • For outskirt hotel of Semporna will have a pickup surcharge of MYR 30 per pax.
  • Pickup from Tawau Airport and Hotels in Tawau Town is not available.
  • For children aged 3-11: Compulsory to ride with an adult.
  • Person with heart disease, high blood pressure, fear of heights, pregnant, recent surgery and weight over 130kg are not recommended to participate.
  • Recommended to bring: Extra cloths, insect repellent, raincoat, jacket, sunglasses, sun protector, cap, personal medication, binocular, camera, umbrella
  • Activities are required to sign a disclaimer form. If the guest does not agree to sign, the guest will not be able to proceed with the tour.
  • Whether or not to cancel the trip shall be decided solely by the ATV operators after weighing the situation of the day, and the decision will be final, any objections will not be entertained.
  • Rain does not affect the ATV ride itinerary, unless there are thunderstorms or landslides.
  • As this tour is in a natural habitat , wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.

Pay on travelling day

No advance payment is required, simply pay cash in Ringgit-Malaysia to tour guide. However, you still need pay in full for any cancellation made 1 day prior to tour date.

Tour location / Depart from: Tawau (Semporna) . To reach Tawau city, you have to take a domestic flight or bus express from Kota Kinabalu or Sandakan. There are direct flights from Kuala Lumpur International Airport too.

Insurance: Tourist transportation insurance included. Please contact your insurance agency for personal travel insurance.
Pickup Service:  Pickup service will be provided from the hotel/hostel/lodge that you are staying. Please wait at lobby while the tour guide will find you when he/she arrive. Dropoff service will be provided after travelling, please notify us upon booking if your dropoff location is differ from pickup location.
Tour Type: Sit-In-Coach basis (SIC). This tour is not private tour, you will share the trip with other guests come from different countries. Please notify us upon booking if you are looking for private tour, surcharge might be applied. Specialities: You may decide the joining date, no compulsory tips (If you are happy and satisfied with the journey and the tour guide service, it's always a nice way to express your appreciation with tipping, OR words of thanks is good enough).
Cancellation & Refund Policy:  (1.) Within 2 - 0 days cancellation will be charge 100% of the tour fee. (2.) Within 3 days cancellation will be charge 50% of the tour fee. (3.) 4 days and above cancellation will be charge 0% of the tour fee. (4.) In an event of No Show, all tour fees shall be forfeited. (5.) Any cancellation due to flight delays, illnesses, emergencies, etc. shall be able to apply for a full refund. However, sufficient evidence must be provided to prove that it is not a malicious cancellation of the trip. (6.) Tour fees will not be refunded once tour is proceeding. (7.) Full refund will be given for any cancellation made by the operation team due to bad weather or other force majeure. (8.) Tour will still proceed in the event of rain if there are no cancellation mentioned. Guest that choose to not participate in the tour will be assumed as NO SHOW.
