Description

An interesting escape that will only take you 1.5 hour from the city of Kota Kinabalu to a breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kinabalu and placing you at the second most beautiful village in Malaysia. Located somewhere on the northwestern part of Sabah, Kiulu River graded as Class I – II river is safe enough for children and gentle enough for the elderly.

Trip begins with a safety briefing session conducted by our professional raft guide that will demonstrates rafting techniques and proper handling of rafting equipment before rafting commences.

Excursion covers up to 15km, making it the longest white water rafting trip in Borneo. The journey will take about 1 ½ - 2 hours of rafting before reaching the ending point where delicious lunch prepared just by the riverbank.

While having your lunch, enthrall yourself with the pristine breathtaking surroundings or get a quick sun tan before heading back to your respective hotels.

The minimum age required for kid is 4 years old. The insurance provided is only covered for kid of aged 4 years old and above. And the size of life jacket provided is suitable for kid more than 4 years old.

    Depart from your hotel in the Kota Kinabalu City and proceed to Kiulu River, located at Tamparuli area. Journey take 1.5 -2 hours drive.

    Arrive at starting point. Safety Briefing will be given by RIVERBUG’s professional river guide and signing of Liability Release form.

    Rafting commences. Excursions takes about 2 hours to the ending point.

    Arrive ending point, freshen-up and ready for lunch.

    Depart for hotel.

Warm Remind

  • Children below the age of 5 years old are strictly NOT permitted to join the tour.
  • Surcharge of MYR30 per person applied for pickup location in Kinarut area and Putatan area (eg. Beringgis Beach Resort, Kinabalu Villas, Narada Hotel).
  • Participants must have trimmed fingernails and toenails.
  • No jewelries and valuable items allowed to be worn (or brought along) during these activities.
  • Please let us know if you have dietary request, e.g. vegetarian.
  • Recommended things to bring included : sandal with strap/sport shoes, short and T-shirt (not white colour), swimwear, insect repellent, sun-block lotion, change of clothes, towel, hat.
  • People with heart disease, epilepsy or other severe disease are advised not to rafting.
  • Please prepare retainer for your glasses, and do not wear contact lenses.

Pay on travelling day

No advance payment is required, simply pay cash in Ringgit-Malaysia to tour guide. However, you still need pay in full for any cancellation made 1 day prior to tour date.

  • Cancellation & Refund Policy:  No refund for any cancellation made within 2 days from the tour date, 90% of full payment will be refunded if cancel 3 days and above. No refund for those tours which involve accommodation.

  • Tour Type: Sit-In-Coach basis (SIC). This tour is not private tour, you will share the trip with other guests come from different countries. Please notify us upon booking if you are looking for private tour, surcharge might be applied.

  • Insurance: Tourist transportation insurance included. Please contact your insurance agency for personal travel insurance.

  • Pickup Service:  Pickup service will be provided from the hotel/hostel/lodge that you are staying. Please wait at lobby while the tour guide will find you when he/she arrive. Dropoff service will be provided after travelling, please notify us upon booking if your dropoff location is differ from pickup location.

  • Specialities: You may decide the joining date, no compulsory tips (If you are happy and satisfied with the journey and the tour guide service, it's always a nice way to express your appreciation with tipping, OR words of thanks is good enough).

The driver (Mr. Wong / +60 16 846 6820) was very friendly and gave us many suggestion on where to eat and other tours available. Lester (?), our guide for the rafting was also really friendly and we had a great time thanks to him. A few unexpected events along the way but we had fun enjoying the serene surroundings and making friends along the way. Will definitely go for rafting again.

I did not got conformation email for my booking. And I was not any information about the tour. Lukily compani called my in the morning, when tour started. And eventually I got it. The rafting was fanny and I am happy:)
