Description
The mere name conjures the image of crystal-clear waters and a floating paradise like no other. A 45-minute trip from Semporna by speedboat, Kapalai island is one of the many beautiful diving havens in this part of the world. However, Kapalai is truly unique because it is not quite an ‘island’, it is a sandbank in the middle of the Celebes Sea.
The 40 chalets are built on high wooden stilts in the middle of the ocean. Visitors can enjoy the sights of marine life in action as they stroll along the boardwalk, a sturdy construction that connects the various sections of the floating resort.
All rooms are twin-sharing and fully air-conditioned along with an attached bathroom, hot and cold shower, bathtub, and fresh water from the mainland for daily use, you may have your own private balcony too.
For guest traveling with family, you may request for a Family room where Kapalai Dive Resort is able to arrange a family room with 1 double bed and 2 single beds.
You will have a breathtaking view of the Celebes Sea no matter where you turn! The restaurant is a wooden deck, where diners can eat indoors or al fresco. There’s even a viewing area in the middle of the restaurant which allows you to see the myriad of marine life passing below. The sundeck, a popular favorite, is a great place to enjoy your novel, work on a tan, or indulge in an afternoon siesta.
The Dive Centre provides diving, snorkeling, and kayaking gear for rent. Can’t dive but would love to? No problem! The center offers a variety of PADI courses, including Open Water and Introduction to Night Diving. After enjoying your underwater paradise, explore other facilities offered by the resort including the souvenir shop, games room, and broadband access.
Fresh food cooked by a chef on buffet style. Afternoon snacks are served after 3rd dive, and tea and coffee, cold water, and cordial drink are served thru out the day.
Land Transfer Time
- Tawau Airport to Semporna - 8:00am or 10:30am
- Semporna to Tawau Airport - 12:30pm or 2:30pm
Boat Schedule
- Semporna town to Kapalai Island - 09:30 am or 12:30 pm (boat journey takes 40 minutes)
- Kapalai Island to Semporna town - 11:00 am or 1:30 pm (boat journey takes 40 minutes)
- An additional fee will be charged for unscheduled transfers.
Flight Timing Guide
- Arrival :
Book the earliest flight to arrive in Tawau.
1st boat into KAPALAI is at 9:30 am, earliest flight to look for is to arrive Tawau around 07:00 am.
- Departure:
Book any flight from 10:00 am onward.
To stay up to the last departure boat at 13:30 pm from KAPALAI, the earliest flight to look for is anytime from 17:00 pm.

To Dive At Sipadan
-The cost of one permit is MYR 450 to enter Sipadan and this is NOT included in the package above.
-Please notify us upon booking if you wish to apply the permit. Only a minimum of 4D3N stay are allowed to apply the Sipadan dive permit.
-Minimum diving certification level of Advance Open Water (AOW) or equivalent to dive at Sipadan. One dive permit is allowed to do Two (2) dives.
Insurance
We recommend that if you intend to go scuba diving, make sure you have an insurance policy that covers this
activity. We strongly recommend that all guests take out adequate travel insurance covers accident, loss
caused by cancellations, loss of luggage, personal property, medical expenses, medical evacuation and
weather disruption / cancellations (including activity cancellations). Guests intending on participating in diving
activities must ensure their insurance covers them for SCUBA related activities and has appropriate 'depth '
coverage.

How to Pay
Pay on travelling day
No advance payment is required, simply pay cash in Ringgit-Malaysia to tour guide. However, you still need pay in full for any cancellation made 1 day prior to tour date.

Tour location / Depart from: Tawau (Semporna) . To reach Tawau city, you have to take a domestic flight or bus express from Kota Kinabalu or Sandakan. There are direct flights from Kuala Lumpur International Airport too.
