The Malaysian Customs Department (“RMCD”) imposes Tourism Tax to International guest (MYR 10 nett per room per night). You may pay the tax at reception.  Update: Malaysia government waive the tourism tax from 1 July 2020 until 30 Jun 2021.

Don't worry to start your climbing right after 2 hours land journey, stay 1 night at Kinabalu Park to recharge.

The biggest attraction in Sabah for tourist all around the world - Mount Kinabalu. It’s the highest peak in south-east Asia, measuring 4,095.2 m high. Some say, the Mount Kinabalu is one of the easiest mountain to climb, but don’t underestimate the challenges that you’ll face on the Summit Trail.

You reach the final destination at Low’s peak. As you wait in the cold, dawn gradually creeps over the horizon, illuminating the darkness with the light of a new day.

Watching sunrise at the top has been described by travelers everywhere as a life -enriching experience In clear weather, you can almost see all of Sabah spread out below. From this vantage point, you will also see a dramatic drop more than 1,000 m drop - Low’s Gully. A chasm stretching 16 km. in length, it separates the summit plateau into the western and eastern plateau.

The base at the low peak is well-equipped with facilities. Advance reservation (3 ~ 6 months prior) are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  • A porter would normally carry up to 10kg at MYR13-MYR16 per kg. Simply ask for porter service on climbing day upon registration.
  • You may leave the luggage at Kinabalu Park, there will be a charge at MYR 12 per bag per night.
  • No age limit for kid to join, however, it is reccommended at least 5 years old.
  • Children 16 years old & below will required a personal Mountain Guide @ RM 230 nett guide. Maximum 1 guide for 2 children.

Recent Update

Drinking Water / Hot Water: Balsam Cafe & Laban Rata Restaurant are no longer provide hot water/drinking water for climbers. Mineral water is available for purchase at the grocery counter – MYR 7 for 500ml / MYR 14 for 1.5 liters. Coffee & Tea will only be provided during breakfast and supper.

Mountain Guide Overtime Charges: Mountain Guide overtime charges based on arrival to Timpohon Gate on the descend day: MYR 15 per guide for every extra hour start from 4pm (count as a group).

Transportation Overtime Charges: Transportation overtime charges based on arrival to Timpohon Gate after 7pm on the descend day = MYR 80 per van per way.

  • SPECIAL NOTE: It is recommended that all climbers should have themselves medically checked before attempting any mountain climb. If you have a history of suffering from the following aliment, it is highly recommended that you should refrain from climbing - Hypertension, Diabetes, Palpitation, Arthritis, Heart Disease, Severe Anemia, Peptic Ulcers, Epileptic Fits, Obesity (Overweight), Chronic Asthma, Muscular Cramps, Hepatitis (Jaundice); or any other disease which may hamper the climber.
  • Things to wear & bring : suitable walking shoes and sandals, warm clothing, windbreaker/raincoat, change of clothes, hiking socks, hiking pole, lip gloss, lotion, insect repellent, drinking water and high energy food (chocolates, raisins, nuts, glucose), instant food: noodle, biscuit, buns, fruits & canned food(In case you miss the specified meals times), first aid kit, basic toiletries, binoculars, mobile phone, whistle, water proof bag, sleep bag, camera and torchlight.
  • You may decide your own pickup time (either from airport or hotel), surcharge will be applied if pickup after 6pm.
  • Climbers allowed hike to mountain hut on day 2 even raining; Sabah Park has the right to close the gate to summit on day 3 due to safety reason. There will be no refund / postpone in this case.

    Wake up and have breakfast at a local restaurant (Breakfast time: 6:00am - 8:00am).

  • 08:30

    Meet up with co-ordinator at Kinabalu Park Headquater.

  • 08:40

    Register at Kinabalu Park Headquater. Please present original IDENTITY CARD / PASSPORT for verification.

  • 08:50

    Meet the assigned Mountain Guide(s) and Local Pack Lunch will be given.

  • 09:00

    Transfer to Timpohon Gate from Kinabalu Park Headquater.

  • 09:30

    Begin the ascent with your personal mountain guide. The climb will take approximately 4 ~ 6 hrs.

  • 12:00

    Take a rest and enjoy your packed lunch.

  • 16:00

    Expected to reach Laban Rata area.

    Check-in at the Mountain Huts (unisex shared dormitory).

    Dinner at Laban Rata Rest House restaurant (Dinner time: 5:00pm - 7:30pm).

    Wake up and have supper at Laban Rata restaurant (Supper time: 2:00am - 3:30am).

    Commence to the summit by torchlight. There are ladders, hand railings and ropes to help you over the steeper parts. You reach the final destination at Low’s peak, the summit of Borneo at 4,095.2m.

  • 05:00

    Witness the beautiful sunrise from the summit. Clouds usually begin to form. These swirling clouds could obstruct visibility.

  • 06:00

    Begin to descend and back to Laban Rata. (latest by 6:30am).

  • 09:00

    Arrive at Laban Rata restaurant for breakfast (Breakfast time: 7:30am - 10:30am).

  • 10:00

    Begin to descend.

  • 15:30

    Reach Timpohon Gate, transfer to Kinabalu Park’s HQ and collect your certificate.

    Transfer back to hotel at Kota Kinabalu.

How to Pay

Pay on travelling day

No advance payment is required, simply pay cash in Ringgit-Malaysia to tour guide. However, you still need pay in full for any cancellation made 1 day prior to tour date.

Pay Online

Accep Visa and MasterCard credit card, Malaysian bank transfer, Paypal, FPX, Alipay. 2.3% surcharge apply. Please be noted that 2.3% transaction fee is non-refundable in case there is cancellation 3 days after the payment made.

Bank Transfer

Please request bank staff to calculate equivalent amount in USD before Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) to Malaysia. It takes 3 days to reach us. No 2.3% surcharge but you have to bear both side banks charges. The balances will be paid to either side as the case may be.
