Description

Come join us in experience climbing Sabah most famous Mount Kinabalu with the 3D2N Budget Package without breaking your wallet!

Day 1: 

The tour starts with pick up at 0800hrs from your hotel lobby in Kota Kinabalu city or airport. Take approximately 1hour 30minutes drive to Pekan Nabalu, which located at 73KM away from KK town, where you can get various local products, fruits, home grown vegetables and handicraft souvenirs. After that, continue your journey to Kinabalu Park for pre-climb registration. [Passports (International) /Original Identification Card (Malaysian) are required for verification during registration]. Do expect some short waiting time, as there might be a long queue for registration. After registration you will proceed to Desa Cattle Dairy Farm where you can get our localy made fresh milk, yogurt and yummy ice-cream. Head for your Lunch at own expenses. After a half day worth of trip , Head to Kinabalu Pine Resort/Similar and check-in at 3pm. After that will be free at own leisure. Dinner will be served at resort restaurant. Good night and see you in tomorrow morning!

Day 2
Wake up and enjoy breakfast at resort’s restaurant. After that , you will check out and transfer to Kinabalu Park Headquarters.

Collect your individual packed lunch and meet your mountain guide [Wear your Climbing Tag at all times]. Unneeded luggage can be store at Sutera Sanctuary Lodge’s reception counter at MYR 12 per luggage at own expenses. You may engage porter at Kinabalu Park. Porter fees are paid directly to the porter at MYR 14.00/kg (Timpohon Gate > Laban Rata > Timpohon Gate). Transfer to Timpohon Gate together with your mountain guide. Begin your adventure of 6KM trekking from Timpohon Gate to Panalaban with a short lunch break on the way. Arrive at Panalaban and check in to your designated room.

Overnight at Panalaban / Lemaing Hostel (unisex shared room with basic facilities). Dinner start serving from 4.30pm to 7pm, at Laban Rata Restaurant. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Day 3
Wake up at 1.30am and gear up. Supper will start serving from 2am to 3.30am, at Laban Rata Restaurant. Begin your journey towards the Summit of Low’s Peak @ 4095.2m with your assigned Mountain Guide. Cut-off time for Sayat-Sayat Check Point is 5.30am (Climbers who arrive at Sayat- Sayat Check Point after 5.30am will not allowed to proceed with summit climb). Experience the glorious sunrise over the majestic Mount Kinabalu and take beautiful photos at the summit plateau before descend to Laban Rata for a well earned breakfast. You will then check out and begin the trek down to Timpohon Gate.

Upon arriving at Timpohon gate , take the Park’s shuttle transfer – KOKTAS, from Timpohon Gate to Kinabalu Park’s Headquarter. After that, enjoy your late lunch at Panataran Restaurant.

CONGRATULATIONS! You can now collect your Certificate of Achievement from our team. Transfer back to your hotel at Kota Kinabalu which takes approximately 2 hours.

Day 1: Kinabalu Pine Resort (or similar)

(Twin / Triple Share Room)

Kinabalu Pine Resort is one of the beautiful resort located at Kundasang area. Their wooden cabins are fully built using the exclusive Selangan Batu hardwood. All rooms at here come with WiFi internet access, satellite television channels, intercom facility, en-suite bathroom, and coffee & tea making facilities. All cabins have wide open porches facing Mount Kinabalu.

Day 2: Panalaban Hostel (or Lemaing Hut)

(Basic Unisex Shared Room)

Panalaban Hostel is two newly built hostel located near to Laban Rata Resthouse. It take only a few minutes walk from the restaurant. Panalaban Hostel consists of two blocks, named Mokodou & Kinotoki, each block can accommodate up to 25 climbers. Every bed comes with mattress, a blanket and a pillow. This is hostel-style accommodation where you have to sleep alongside with other climbers in a big room and share common bathroom. There is water dispenser at Panalaban Hostel where you can refill your water bottle. Only a few charging outlets available inside the hostel room, so you will have to take turns with others.

Laban Rata Restaurant no longer provide hot water for climbers, but available for purchase at the counter.

Porter Fee (Optional)
Porter service is fully optional depends on individual. Due to number of porters are reducing, your mountain guide might also act as your porter (depends on the availability of porter during the actual day).

Porters will measure the weight of backpacks in front of climbers.
Payments will be made directly to the porter by cash, minimum weight is 10 Kgs.
Porters will not trek along with you, so keep all the necessities that you need with you.
Things can get wet on the mountain, so pack your belongings in big plastic bag/use a backpack rain cover to protect your climbing gear.
A porter would normally carry up to 10kg at MYR13-MYR16 per kg. Simply ask for porter service on climbing day upon registration.
You may leave the luggage at Kinabalu Park, there will be a charge at MYR 12 per bag per night.
No age limit for kid to join, however, it is recommended at least 10 years old.
Climbers below 16 years old are considered as CHILD and compulsory to have a private mountain guide (Maximum shared by 2 children / Guide). Mountain Guide Fee – MYR 350/Guide.

Mountain Guide Overtime Charges
Mountain Guide overtime charges based on arrival to Timpohon Gate on the descend day = MYR 15 per guide for every extra hour start from 4pm (count as a group)

Transportation Overtime Charges
Transportation Overtime Charges [MYR 80 per transport/way] will be applied for: Pick up from airport/hotel in Kota Kinabalu city to Kinabalu Park/Poring Hot Spring after 6 pm on the climbing date (Day 1) AND transfer depart from Kinabalu Park HQ to Kota Kinabalu city after 7 pm on the descend day due to climbers late arrival. Any transfer after 10 pm to/from Kinabalu Park or Poring Hot Spring consider as midnight transfer, [MYR 120 per transport/way] will be applied.

About Drinking Water / Hot Water
UV filtered drinking water available at Laban Rata restaurant area. Mineral water available for purchase at the grocery counter – MYR 7 for 500ml / MYR 14 for 1.5 liters. Coffee & Tea will only be provided during Breakfast Hour and Supper. The cost for one mug of hot water at the restaurant is RM1.5, but there is water dispenser at your hostel where you can get FOC hot water. (Price subject to change without prior notice).

No Heated Shower/Room Heater
Panalaban Hostel’s power supply comes from generator and thus, the available generated electricity is very limited, hot shower and room heater are both not available.

Tourism Tax:  Federal Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia has imposed a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX) effective from September 2017. Foreign tourists are required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night by cash regardless of the hotel star level. The tax will be collected from every check-in guest directly at the resort/hotel which is not included in the package.

No advance payment is required, simply pay cash in Ringgit-Malaysia to tour guide. However, you still need pay in full for any cancellation made 1 day prior to tour date.
